Emori Smith

Emori Smith joined Flatlands in October 2023 as an account manager in the crop division. She graduated from North Carolina State University in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management as well as two associate degrees in agricultural business management and general agriculture. Her hometown is in Belhaven NC. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

How I Got Here:

My name is Emori Smith. I am a local girl from Belhaven, NC. I have been passionate about agriculture for a while now. In high school I decided I was going to make a career out of Ag and study at North Carolina State University in 2018. Now in 2023 I have been through the Agricultural Institute and CALS programs that NC state offers and finally graduated with three degrees all pertaining to agriculture. Once I graduated, I started thinking about where my place would be in the field. I wanted to gain knowledge on solutions for farmers in rural and local areas when they need our direction to give them access to coverage of their farm or business along with any opportunities they may need to succeed. I thought to myself what about crop insurance! This fulfils my passion for the future of agriculture along with helping farmers stay covered to protect them against any negative impact thrown their way.
